Change of plans...

We are moving out of my parents' house. I almost can't even believe it. This is kind of crazy and a lot sooner than I thought it would be!

We are no longer going to visit Jose in Oklahoma. He decided he would, in fact, rather come home and stay with us for a week. Lord knows the man deserves a week off! He's been working TONS of hours, and it probably exhausted.

But, we run into the dilemma of him not really enjoying himself here at my parents' house. And I understand him. I get it. I would HATE living with his mom. Its nothing against her (even though we have had our differences!), its just that its not MY house and I wouldn't be comfortable there.

As we were talking about him coming home, I was checking out apartments on Craigslist. I found a basement apartment (lol, not the most glamorous, I know!) for super cheap and in practically in the same neighborhood we live right now. I called the guy, and made plans to meet up with him at 1pm.

In the meantime (it was only 11am), me and the kids drove over there to check it out. McDonalds, Taco Bell, and Burger King are LITERALLY right down the street. There is a beautiful park with new playground equipment a couple of blocks away (and by the nice pedestrian bridge so that we won't have to cross the busy street!). A couple of gas stations and a grocery store are all pretty close.

At 1pm, me and the girls met the landlord and checked the apartment out. I was rather impressed. For the price, I was kind of expecting a dump. It is pretty nice, freshly painted, new kitchen, and roomy. I immediately told him I would take it, and handed over the depsoit and first months rent. We are moving in this weekend!!!

I'm excited!

My mom is a tad disappointed. I knew she would be. But, we are driving her pretty insane, and I know once we're gone she will be relieved.
